This evening I've been thinking about my goals and how best to achieve them. Over the last month I'm sure you've all made new years resolutions, new goals and have had new dreams. When you lay in bed at night what dreams go through your mind? How many of you have stopped yourself from meeting your goals or going for your dreams because of the fear that overwhelms you? Fear. We all are fearful of something, but have you ever let fear hold you back from attempting to accomplish your goals and dreams? Many people never try to accomplish anything because of fear of failure. In fact, 90% of the people reading this have done just that.
Do all of you understand that it takes 21 days to create a habit? Not a day or a week, not the year that everyone tries to achieve that new years resolution, 21 days. If you make a plan of action and follow your plan for 21 days with tireless effort your life will start to become what you deserve and you will have developed a habit to success!
Jeffrey Combs quotes in one of his tapes on "The 21 Laws of Success", Think like a millionaire before you become one. Think big, but you have to act big." If you work in Network or Direct Marketing you have to love what you do!
These are just a few of Jeffrey Combs Laws of Success. To get the full benefit of his training material, you should definately get the whole series.
1. Successful People Change the Way They Think! This goes back to the habits of surrounding yourself with positive mind-affirming thoughts. Read a book for 20 minutes or listen to a tape on positive thinking. This helps you and develops those changing habits.
2. Successful People Develop Their Self Esteem or Confidence. How do you feel about yourself? Would you hire yourself? Think about that. . . If you think you wouldn't, do something to change that!
3. Successful People Let Go of Their Past! 3 How can your present be any good if you're still living with past actions, or past circumstances. You can set dreams and goals for the future, but you can't achieve them if you're still living in the past. Can you honestly say that you live in the present? Many people are so used to living with past pain or mediocracy or fear that they get stuck in the past and not the present. That WILL NOT allow you to move forward! Forgive yourself, forgive others. You will be amazed at how this helps your present which helps your future.
4. Successfull People Have a Dream With A Clear Vision of Their Future. By living in the present, you can have a clear vision of your future so you can tell where you are going. Dream, we all need to dream! Take a picture of yourself in this vision and treat yourself as if you've already reached those goals! Know your WHY! Work towards that why and your vision.
5. Successful People Have a Game Plan/A Plan of Action. The one thing you have to realize though is that you have to act on your plan. No inconsistency! If you say you are going to work 6 hours a day, work 6 hours a day! If you're going to work 2 hours a day, great! But work those 2 hours a day! So many people have a goal, but then they just don't act on it and they let life get in the way. Are you following life's plan or your own?
6. Successful People Have Clear, Defined and Reachable Goals. It's ok to think big, but you also have to act big! What amount of income do you want and by when? You might not even be able to picture meeting this goal, but if you have that vision in your mind, your vision will start to become a reality.
7. Successful People Realize That Life Is a Numbers Game. You need to 'expose' your enterprise. You need to get in front of people and you need to get comfortable with the word NO or with rejection. The only thing is that rejection is not personal. Out of those No's will eventually come yes's. If you work your business part-time you need to expose your business to 10 to 20 people in a week and you will get some yes's! If your full time, you need to expose your business to 30 to 50 people a week. You need to create a lot of numbers to create a lot of results.
8. Successful People Understand the 80/20 Principle. Have you ever attached yourself emotionally to people that you work with? The people you spend your time chasing or the ones that you spend the most time with emotionally are the ones that work the least. The ones you spend the least amount of time with work the most, they are going to do it if you're there or not. There is a great book called the 80/20 Principle. You will see that the ones that you spend 80% of your time produce only 20%, and the ones you spend 20% of your time are the ones that produce 80% of your business. You need to work smart and work with those 20% that are doing 80% of the work.
9. Successful People Get Results, Production Rather Than Politics. You can either do the work that produces results or you can talk to 10 to 20 people about how "something' isn't working for you and "how you're doing the business but it's just not working for you'. Then instead of producing anything, you are stopping yourself with lack of productivity because you are wrapped up in politics, or complaining about how this is difficult or you are doing it wrong.
10. Succesful People Are Focused! They Don't Major In Minor Things. How many of you react to thing that happen in your life. An example is your credit card and the charges on it. You can spend 2 hourse arguing the charges instead of spending more time propsecting. How many of you react instead act? You need to be solution-oriented, not problem-oriented. Don't let problems sap your energy. Take yourself out of that and don't let thieves take your goals and dreams away from you by draining your energy. Let opportunities present themselves, instead of reacting to circumstances.
These are just 10 of the 21 Laws of Success! As this week progresses, put these first 10 laws into play. Make your life about WIN/WIN! Take these laws and start creating the next 21 days and setting these laws into your life to creat a habit. I plan on doing the same this week and I'll let you kow how it goes for me. Feel free to post how it goes for you. To your success!
